2025 was a defining year for Trendspek. We delivered major product releases, continued to expand globally, and supported some of the world’s most complex assets.
From industrial facilities and multi-campus Universities to maritime infrastructure and critical networks, every update, partnership and event was driven by one goal: to help you make better decisions, faster.
Solving complex problems for unique use cases
Across industries and continents, asset owners are using Trendspek to solve problems that were once time-consuming, risky, or impossible.
This year, we’ve continued to expand the platform to meet user needs, enabling unique workflows and use cases that help teams work smarter, safer, and with confidence.
Risk-based inspections for industrial assets
Applus+ are transforming the way critical infrastructure assets are managed, delivering 90% faster inspections, high-fidelity visuals and interactive reports to their clients for proactive risk mitigation.
Future-proofing university campus portfolios
This year we supported leading Group of Eight institutions, including the University of Sydney, University of Melbourne and Adelaide University, in integrating Trendspek into their BAU asset management strategies.
Transforming maritime asset management
We enabled NSW Ports to gain unprecedented visibility into the condition of wharves, jetties, and other key infrastructure, helping them enhance their routine inspections and gain deeper condition insights.
Supporting local councils and insurers
Local councils and insurers have been using Trendspek to build stronger asset records, helping them make confident decisions based on data. Reduced guesswork supports grant applications and ensures budgets are directed where they have the greatest impact.
Faster, safer planning for critical infrastructure
Vocus, a provider of mission-critical private networks across Australia’s mining regions, uses Trendspek to digitise pre-site inspections, cut mobilisation, and centralise site data, empowering stakeholders to plan with confidence - before setting foot on site.
Integrating aerial NDT for high-risk assets
We’ve enabled teams in critical industries to integrate aerial NDT data into Trendspek, giving a complete, context-rich view of structural condition. This allows teams to safely capture data at height and map it directly onto 3D models.
Building world-class features
In 2025, Trendspek facilitated over 55,500 online site visits saving thousands of hours in travel time and reducing on-site exposure to risk.
We released major platform upgrades, integrations and ground-up new features, including:
A rebuilt Dashboard
We rebuilt the Trendspek Dashboard from the ground up, creating a clearer layout, simpler navigation and instant visibility over asset condition and activity. Customers now see what matters most the moment they log in.
Portfolio Insights
Our new Dashboard laid the foundation for our Portfolio Insights module, transforming raw inspection data into customised analytics dashboards. Users can now:
- Identify risk patterns across hundreds of assets
- Compare CAPEX and OPEX scenarios
- Build stronger long-term financial plans
Autodetect AI
We launched our AI co-pilot Autodetect AI, allowing you to train your own models to detect repetitive defects instantly. You keep the IP, control the output, and save thousands of hours on manual review.
Nearmap compatibility
We integrated with Nearmap to overlay rich, high-resolution aerial imagery onto your asset environment. This provides critical context for site access planning, risk assessments, and environmental verification.
User tagging and instant alerts
Communication gaps cause delays. You can now tag a specific user within Annotations to send an instant email notification, keeping the right people in the loop and projects moving.
Case Study: NSW Ports
NSW Ports adopted Trendspek to enhance their asset management and inspections, gaining deeper insights into the condition of their wharves, jetties, and other maritime structures.
“It provides a snapshot in time, allowing contractors to familiarise themselves with assets before arriving on-site, saving time during tendering and preparation,” says Maruf Akhtar, Asset Systems Manager at NSW Ports.
Awards, events and industry recognition
2025 was a year of recognition for Trendspek’s commitment to industry innovation and impact. We were named Innovation - Technology Award winner at the AAUS Industry Champion Awards 2025, and proud finalists in two other categories:
- Derek Feebrey — Leadership Award
- Alana Flack — Diversity & Inclusion Award
Trendspek, the University of Sydney and Infracorr Consulting were recognised as an Engineers Australia Project of the Year — Outstanding Nominee, celebrating our digital transformation work across multi-campus environments.
We also made strides with ARIAM Research Hub, with James Gray presenting his research for his project on 3D Reconstruction of Reflective and Textureless Regions.
Key events included:
- TEFMA25 Annual Conference: Co-Founders Derek Feebrey and Fiona Church shared practical insights into how leading institutions are moving away from reactive maintenance and towards evidence-based, data-driven planning.
- Energy Drone & Robotics Summit, Houston: Co-exhibiting with our partners Osprey Integrity, we showcased how Trendspek is enabling digital preventive maintenance for the oil and gas industry
- Statewide Mutual Risk Management Conference: CEO Derek Feebrey shared how councils and insurers can move towards evidence-based insurance and funding applications using Trendspek
- NY Real Estate Week: Trendspek joined Investment NSW for a trade mission to NY, where CEO Derek Feebrey engaged with city agencies, investors, and innovators on asset renewal strategies
- Smart Inspect & Online Repair Middle East Conference: Derek Feebrey, Andrey Derevyanko, and Jordana Cheong shared how global leaders can move from reactive maintenance to proactive, data-driven integrity programs.
- Visiting partners in Canada: Fiona Church and Andrey Derevyanko took the time to visit our strategic partners: “The best partnerships are not transactional. They are built on trust, shared vision and a willingness to roll up sleeves together”
Case Study: Applus+
Applus+ is redefining industrial inspections with a proactive, data-driven approach to asset management.
With a digital record of each asset, stakeholders can review asset conditions online, take targeted action, and open up opportunities for remote expertise and interpretation.
"In an industry where every minute counts, this data-driven strategy is invaluable,” says Christopher Louw, Digital Services Business Unit Manager, Australia Applus+.
Bringing experts together
We hosted industry experts across Universities, energy, and industrial sectors to share practical insights on digital inspection and preventive maintenance.
Transforming risk management for Universities
A live session with engineers from Infracorr Consulting, showing how Universities can transform risk management across campus with digital-led inspection and analysis.
The DNA of a successful DFPM Program | Part 1
With Courtland Penk, President of Osprey Integrity, where we explored UAV-led digitisation of major refineries and the shift to continuous, data-driven monitoring.
Continuing to lead the field in cybersecurity
At Trendspek, protecting customer data is the foundation of how we operate, reinforced by yearly audits across our platform, processes and people to maintain globally recognised compliance standards.
Our successful re-certifications in SOC 2 Type 2 (System and Organisation Controls 2), ISO 27701 (Privacy Information Management System), ISO 27001 (Information Security Management System), ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems) underline our commitment to the highest standards of security, privacy, and quality across our platform and operations.
Mitch Deam, Co-Founder and Chief Compliance Officer at Trendspek:
"Our re-attestation is more than a compliance measure. It’s continuing proof of Trendspek embedding security at the core of everything we do — from how we operate, to how we make decisions, to how we serve our customers. This consistency is what builds lasting trust."
Looking ahead to 2026
As 2025 comes to a close, we’re building on strong momentum into the year ahead, continuing to help leading organisations around the globe take control of their Structural Lifecycle Management.
Here’s a little sneak peek at what’s to come in the new year:
- Our upcoming Projects module will introduce controlled, selective sharing of your asset within Trendspek, so you can collaborate confidently, sharing the right data with the right people, without overexposure.
- We’re also integrating BIM intelligence directly into reality models, bringing element IDs, materials, and system data into context to reduce manual effort and remove guesswork.
Thank you to our customers, partners, and team for pushing boundaries with us this year. We’re excited to continue evolving alongside you, and to see what we’ll achieve together in 2026.
